Colossians 4:2 KJV Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
Colossians 4:2 Amplified – Be persistent and devoted to prayer, being alert and focused in your prayer life with an attitude of thanksgiving.
My Testimony: I have prayed and prayed and prayed and haven’t a clue as to what I was saying or even what I meant; but I knew how to ask for what I wanted in detail. But, I have learned that most of the times I prayed a mist until I began to trust the Word of God.
Connect with your prayers and focus on the direction you are going; believing every moment. Be present with your prayers, listen and hear what you are saying especially if you are praying the Word of God. Romans 10:17 Faith cometh by hearing, hearing cometh by the Word of God. Being cognizant helps you get centered, which helps you to accept what is truth and not pray amiss; James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
Romans 10:17 CSB – So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.
When you are praying follow your spirit-heart not your thoughts. Everything about you is inlined within you, the good and the bad giving you the choice to choose; we have so much to pull from our hearts to pray. Even when something’s not good we can confess and move on. Scripture states that, of the abundance of our hearts our mouth speaketh. So whatever is in your heart pay attention to it and speak it to God in Jesus Name. Also, it will alleviate the wandering in prayer with thoughts all over the place. How do I pray with my spirit-heart?
In Humility – humble yourself; think of Him. (this is more a practice than a teach)
Romans 8:26-27 states: (26) Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities (weaknesses): for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
(27) And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Most things that we tend to think move into our hearts and set up emotional barriers, some good and some not so good. The Holy Spirit deciphers what to keep, what you should confess, and what to let go of. I know this may seem like the Holy Spirit is running things; He does want to be in control. But, He impresses upon you and influences you to follow His direction but the choice is always yours to make. What I am sharing with you is how (i) sense the Holy Spirit working in me. Sharing what helped my prayer life, humility. Take your prayer life seriously, be consistent and be present with your prayers. And I promise your focus prayer will become the norm to you without hesitation and wandering.
Being present with your prayers releases praying faith but we as Believers; humans “alone” don’t-can’t have faith alone; faith is not faith alone to have. We cannot just wake up one day and decide oh, I’ll have faith today for this matter. And, then decide to change our mind once the matter works in your favor. Faith is accompanied by the Holy Ghost. It’s not mindset proficient, or qualified or capable to dwell alone within us; it’s the power of the Holy Spirit, a gift from God that causes us to have faith. Which begins with our relationship with Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. This gives strength to (Hebrews 11:6) without Faith it’s impossible to please God . Your Now faith (is) what pleases God. Connecting with your prayers strengthens your faith allowing you to be present in prayer.
This work of the Holy Spirit helps us to unpack the layers of fear and doubt to believe and have faith. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit is why we can have Fatih. Our part is to use our faith and move forward. Put your faith to work; be present and believe while praying and then act. If faith has no work to do, James 2:17 states, it’s dead. There is no life in your works; your prayers, your hope, your worship if there is no faith. Faith is having already what you hope for in your heart; your future, your tomorrow, your today; faith at work; believing. Faith should have a plan of action in all parts of your life; a succession that carries you higher and deeper into your faith and Chrsitian Lifestyle. Faith is a spirit that is a part of you. Go and Believe!
What are you building with your praying faith? Do you believe in your prayers?
James 2:22 states:
KJV Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
NIV You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.
Berean Bible You see that his faith was working with his actions, and his faith was perfected (matured) by what he did.
Again, when you are praying pay attention to the words being spoken. It will help you with your faith to believe and help you to do the work of faith. Such power-strength is developed in your knower; meaning, now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. It will be laminated in your soul.
Side Note:
The Work of Faith – is work that involves mental or physical efforts in order to achieve a purpose or result. Mental work, what you know to be true. Physical work, what you know you can do; achieve.
Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
(be present with your prayers, because out of your heart flows your issues of life)
Proverbs 4:23.Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
