Taking authority in prayer leads from a heart of faith and assurance where your treasures are. The demand is not on Christ. It is the authority to crush the head of the enemy with power in Jesus Name. An example of authority and faith is in the life of Job how he stood with God no matter the hurricanes plunging into his life. But, if you have been placed in a position like Job. You will need salvation, prayer, studying God’s Word, and evangelism as your armor of hope and faith in Jesus Christ; for these things will give you stability.
Because some hurricanes (like-Job’s) are used to become a story of righteousness, to prove the glory of God to you and to others as a testimony of the greatness of God.. Either the hurricane will strengthen you and give you a wealthy relationship with God or hold you in a position unbearable to live in.
A Believer must come to the knowledge that we will suffer on this earth; it is par for the course that leads to Heaven. No one living will avoid trials and tribulations; tribulations that affect the core of our lives. Our suffering identifies us with Jesus Christ suffering on the Cross for us. 1Peter 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
Romans 8:18 – For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
NIV 2 Corinthians 1:4-6 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 5 For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. 6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.
Side Note
With the acceptance that we will suffer on our way to heaven, Jesus Christ has promised He would never forsake us or leave us in the hands of the enemy. He has promised to deliver, He has promised to provide, and He has promised to heal and love us eternally. And even knowing we will suffer; we keep praying in the authority of Jesus Name against all adversary attacks on our faith and on our lives.
2 Corinthians 12:8-9 KJV
For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
What came out of Paul’s suffering was a stronger prayer life, a desire for the word of God, intercession-care for others, teaching skills, and insight into the Will of God for his life. A life that also developed into hearing the voice of God and experiencing the phenomenal presences of the Lord. For Paul to obtain all that he did in the Name of Jesus was through the power and authority of God. The Authority, the Power and the Assurance given Paul is also afforded to us as well. Take Authority everytime you bow and humble yourself in prayer; then crush the head of the enemy with the Blood of Jesus.
