Tawana Moore is the Founder of It’s Time to Serve, Inc., and Pursuing Intimacy with God Ministry, as both were birthed from time spent studying God’s Word. The more she studied, believed, and prayed, vision and purpose began to take form; she then knew she would accomplish what was set before her. She believes ITTS & PIWG Ministry are the results of Psalms 37:4, Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. She states,” God gave her something to trust him for”.
After 20 successful years in the legal profession practicing Antitrust Litigation and Personal Injury Law, Ms. Moore then transitioned into the Nonprofit Sector of Volunteer Management. She worked ten years training volunteers, interns, and staff, developed programs to support the organization's mission, planned the Help the Homeless fundraising yearly, recruited 10 thousand volunteers in the position and was awarded $200,000 grant to enhance her programs. She learned when you believe in the purpose of a cause you can excel the mission….
In both professions she always made time to serve/volunteer; with more than 27 years together volunteering and volunteer management, Ms. Moore decided to launch It’s Time to Serve, Inc. ITTS is a not for profit organization designed to engage the community to serve/volunteer. Tawana has established strong & successful partnerships with N St. Village, The National Mall & Memorial Parks, Food & Friends, Congress Volunteer Program, The President’s Park, The Library of Congress, The Bible Museum, Central Union Mission, and a host of many other community affiliates.
As she grew in her Christian Walk, Pursuing Intimacy with God Ministry came to life. She believed that these four pillars of PIWG Ministry were the strength and power that catapulted her today in her personal relationship with Jesus Christ. ….Salvation/Prayer/Studying God’s Word and Evangelizing. She learned that one could not exist without the other. When she evangelized she learned she needed to have the knowledge of God’s Word in her heart before she could share it. And, when she would intercede for Lost Souls to come to Jesus Christ she learned that during every prayer of Salvation God is always present; and that prayer is powerful!
Tawana, accepted Jesus Christ as her Personal Savior in 1977 as a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church under the leadership of The Late Rev. William B. Stroman. She was a part of a dynamic youth fellowship and served in several ministries, such as, missions, community bible study, outreach programs she organized, and was the President of the Tabernacle Echoes for several years. After 26 years from salvation to serving, to desiring to please God, He called her to preach the gospel. She was then lead to the Ministry of The Lion of Judah under the leadership of Bishop Frank L. Gibson, where she would flourish and walk out the calling on her life. There, she became the lead for Intercessory Prayer, Healing and Comfort, Missions, taught New Members Evangelism classes, sat on the Council of Ministers, and taught quarterly workshops on Pursuing Intimacy with God, that teaches How to Study God’s Word and Hear His Voice.
Ms. Moore continues today to evangelize and volunteer as she is certain this is her purpose in life. John 15:16 speaks more to why she said yes and yielded to the Lord. Because, He wanted her and He chose her in spite of what He knew about her. In closing she states, “How wonderful to be wanted by God.
